They give great color results, and bring out the wood's natural beauty. To achieve a darker stain color, repeat the stain application or to lighten a stain color, use a thinner-dampened rag to wipe until desired color is achieved on a just-stained item. •To prolong the stain life and colors of a newly stained garden bench, furniture or item; Make sure you give your outdoor furniture the right top coat application, 2 to 3 coats, keep it clean and bring it indoors for the winter, or simply cover it up.
